Spend a day in historic Mechanicsburg, Ohio
Two men coming back from the war of 1812 established Mechanicsburg in 1814 on the site of a former
Shawnee Indian village. Local citizens were active in the Underground Railroad. In 1869 the Central Ohio Fair was established on the Goshen Park site and alfalfa was first cultivated here in Ohio by Joe Wing in the late 1800's. Mechanicsburg has
twenty-two buildings placed on the Register Of Historic Places.
